Frequently Asked Questions
What does the average year look like for members? All instrumentalists take BAND 1, which will be broken into 2 parts - Marching and Concert. Guard members will take Eurythmics (Guard Class). Students may also participate in Jazz Ensemble, Indoor Percussion, Indoor Winds, or other additional program elements beyond these 2 requirements! We typically have 15 or so performances during the Fall as the Golden Regiment, and then another 6 concerts throughout the remainder of the year with various ensembles.
My student is nervous about marching band, is this normal? Yes, we often encounter students who are nervous about the physicality of marching or the fact that it is something new and outside of their comfort zone. What we recommend to all students is to participate during their 9th grade year in our program to learn what it is all about! What we have witnessed time and time again is that the vast majority of students who were nervous ended up loving the marching band!
Does the Band take any trips? Yes! In the last several years the band has traveled to Disney, Universal Studios, New Orleans, & Gatlinburg, TN! We also travel to football games and many competitions during the Fall.
Are there any fees for high school Band? Yes. The anticipated fee for 2025-2026 will be $700 per student. Are there any fundraising opportunities? Yes! We begin fundraisers during the Summer & continue throughout the year so that families can limit out of pocket expenses! We also do payment plans for those who are not able to pay all at once!

We also offer Band Honors for Juniors and Seniors (4.5 weighted class) for students wanting to boost their GPA! 4-Year band members also receive Honor Cords for Graduation!
